 He has never called his mother, "mom." 

Rather, because of their closeness in age he has

always referred to his mother as "sister." 

As a result of the brutality and human rights violations

of civil war in West Africa, BOY Jerry and his mother ("sister"),

were forced to flee their home country to escape the harrowing

atrocities all too familiar with civil war in West Africa. 

BOY Jerry's mother ("sister") was only 12 years of age when she gave birth.

It has been reported that more than 121 civil wars have raged

in West Africa since 1945, not including the many lethal

conflicts which remain unclassified or not officially declared as "war."

Today, BOY Jerry resides in the State of New York, where he and his mother were once raised by his grandparents after fleeing West Africa many years ago.

No stranger to the cruelty the world has to offer, BOY Jerry's life would experience yet another brutal and savage act of terror. 

A few years ago, BOY Jerry arrived home to find

armed burglars in his bedroom. 

He was beaten and tortured by the intruders who were demanding

money for his life, and ultimately, shot BOY Jerry

multiple times and left him for dead.

Fortunately, police and paramedics were called to the scene as

BOY Jerry slowly slipped into a coma. His body, riddled with 

bullet wounds, was declared by his surgeon as incapacitated

for life, and that BOY Jerry would never walk normally

again, would need the use of a colostomy bag,

and would likely be impotent.

Two days later, BOY Jerry woke from his coma.

After spending time at the hospital for recovery, and with great vigor and resolve to heal his body, mind, and spirit, he hailed a cab and left the hospital against doctor's orders, and set out to rebuild his life as he envisioned it. 

Calling upon his inner strengths, coupled with a whole lot of

hard work and commitment to his health and wellness, 

BOY Jerry made a full and complete recovery. 

It was now time for BOY Jerry to take life's lemons and make sweet lemonade.

The fond memories of his early childhood through adulthood listening and learning from various motivational speeches given in the city streets, in churches, in stadiums, on television, and on the Internet, set a new

career trajectory for BOY Jerry as a Motivational Speaker.

Since his launch as a Motivational Speaker in December 2021, BOY Jerry

has garnered international recognition for his powerful and poignant storytelling told from the vantage of personal, first-hand experiences.

He shares these life experiences to help empower people to enjoy

better and more successful lives today and every day.  

BOY Jerry is scheduled to release his new book, 

"War Inside My Bedroom," later next year.
